Xiaoyong Zhao

Xiaoyong Zhao is a Senior Scientist at Momenta Pharmaceuticals based in Cambridge, MA. In his current role, his major responsibilities include process development, optimization and scale-up. He also manages tech transfer to CMOs and cGMP manufacturing of APIs to support programs at various clinical stages.  He received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Florida and continued his academic endeavor as a postdoctoral fellow at UC Berkeley and MIT. His research experiences span from organic solar cells to biological sensors and drug delivery. He has co-authored 20+ publications in peer-reviewed journals.  He has expertise in heparin, low-molecular weight heparins and polypeptides. He is currently focusing on the development of complex generics and follow-on-biologics (biosimilars).
