Kevin Fang

Senior Director, Medicinal Chemistry at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Dr. Fang currently is a Senior Director, Medicinal Chemistry at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, Inc., headquartered in Marlborough, MA. He focuses on his drug discovery research and development in the CNS area. He has led many drug discovery programs successfully and resulting in the discovery in several clinical drug candidates progressing to clinical phase III. Furthermore, he holds a number of patents (process and utility) which covered drugs currently marketed worldwide. Dr. Fang has managed multidiscipline external drug discovery collaborations with other pharmaceutical companies, CROs and academic institutions over the last 10 years. He received his B.S degree from Lanzhou University, China, and his Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry at MIT. Dr. Fang has held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility since joining Sunovion (formerly Sepracor) 21 years ago as a research chemist. So far, he has co-authored over 20 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and is also a co-inventor over 40 issued U.S. patents. In addition, he has been invited to speak at 19 professional conferences and with numerous scientific abstracts.
